Our Featured Pet...

For those of us who care for the special animals at the Forever Farm, Bear Jones is a daily reminder of our mission statement, and the rewards of our work. We remember the day earlier this year when fellow rescue volunteers brought Bear Jones to the farm. Unaware of his incredible weakness, we watched in shock as he crumpled out of the car into a pitiful pile on the ground. Barely able to stand or walk, his condition was deplorable. He had been living in a crate too small to stand up in, rarely taken for a walk. His muscles had atrophied, and unsanitary conditions had caused diseased skin and calluses on a large portion of his body. His eyes were full of purulent discharge and his corneas were eroded from untreated entropion. Prior to being placed in this “hell” he had been abandoned by his owners, left chained in the back yard when they moved. No living being should have to endure such injustice. We look at Bear Jones today – running, playing, and smiling with sparkling eyes – and we are reminded of how important our work is. Please help us continue to rescue and care for animals like Bear.

Who We Are

Friends for Life is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are a group of friends who believe that all companion animals desearve a life long commitment from their guardians. We rescue, rehabilitate and find loving families for homeless companion animals, especailly those with special needs. We compassionately assist persons who, due to age, health or extenuating circumstances, need to find a new home for their companion animals. We assist other rescue orgainzations, and traditional shelters, by accepting their special needs animals. At our facility called the Forever Farm we provide lont-term sanctuary to any animal accepted - should they not find a permanent home.

Adopting a friend

Our pets can be adopted based on a personal interview that assures us that your home is a good match for our animal. A veterinary reference, or home visit is sometime requested. Adoption fees vary and generally run between $75 and $150.
